In This Moment ‘Adrenalize’ New York City Fans With Stellar Performance

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire

Anyone who has seen In This Moment in concert recently knows that they have definitely earned the right to be a headlining act. On their Hellpop Tour, Maria Brink and her gang made their stop at Best Buy Theater in New York City with support from Motionless In White, Kyng and All Hail the Yeti.

In This Moment not only rock hard sonically but visually they are compelling. Just about every song performed had an outfit change and a choreographed dance number to go with it. Costumes and dance might not seem like they fit into metal but when you see In This Moment live, you’ll likely be sold from the get-go. Frontwoman Maria Brink is the leader of the robotic, dirty burlesque as she along with her two hellish backup dancers delighted fans throughout the night.

The band as a whole were in tune while performing old favorites ‘Daddy’s Falling Angel,’ a medley of ‘Prayers’ and ‘Next Life’ as well as ‘Blazin’ and ‘The Gun Show.’  Not only did they sound great but with the various lineup changes the band has gone through, the chemistry and bond onstage seemed to have an all around vibe of friendship and musicianship.

Most of the band’s set was made up of tracks from their new record ‘Blood’ including ‘Adrenalize,’ ‘Burn,’ ’Whore’  and a unique rendition of the Nine Inch Nails hit ‘Closer.’ Brink donned stepped up to her thrown in her crown as In This Moment ended their set with the fan favorite ‘Blood.’

Pennsylvania metal band Motionless In White took the stage as the ‘Halloween’ theme song echoed throughout Best Buy Theater. They had the crowd bouncing to ‘Immaculate Conception,’ ‘Abigail,’ ‘Devil’s Night’ and their latest single ‘America’ off of their sophomore record ‘Infamous.’

California rock trio Kyng had a set that was powerful but far too short. The set included two new hard hitting tracks from their forthcoming sophomore album. They also played singles ‘Falling Down’ and ‘I Don’t Believe’ off of their debut ‘Trampled Sun.’

All Hail the Yeti opened up the show with a high energy set to start off the night of adrenaline. The Hellpop tour continues on well into 2014 when Butcher Babies and Devour the Day join the line-up, go here to see a full list of dates.
