Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto's portrayal of The Joker in Suicide Squad is easily one of the most anticipated movie events of 2016. As a method actor, Leto dove into the deep end while playing the Joker, revealing it was such a painful experience that Leto equates it to "giving birth out of my pr-ck hole."

Leto's Joker will unavoidably be compared to all past Jokers, most notably that of Heath Ledger, who posthumously won an Academy Award for his role in The Dark Knight. Much like Heath Ledger, Jared Leto fully immersed himself in the character prior to and during filming. According to fellow Suicide Squad star Will Smith, Leto never broke character and the two of them never exchanged a single word off-camera. Furthermore, Leto reportedly sent a dead rat to Margot Robbie (who plays Harley Quinn), bullets to Will Smith and ordered one of The Joker's henchman to find a rose bush and spray paint all the flowers black.

"There was definitely a period of… detachment," Leto says in the December 2015 issue of Empire magazine. "I took a pretty deep dive. But this was a unique opportunity and I couldn't imagine doing it another way. It was fun, playing those psychological games."

However, Leto may not describe the entire experience itself as purely fun, "It was very painful, like giving birth out of my pr-ck hole. I think I'll be cooling down for the rest of my life." Leto also had some kind words to say about The Joker, claiming he's "a very successful and smart businessman besides being a sociopath."
