Hopefully, this isn't a sign of what's to come with Guns N' Roses' massively anticipated reunion. GN'R frontman Axl Rose has canceled his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! tonight (Jan. 5). The singer was listed on Kimmel's guest lineup, but later removed.

Fans were hoping Axl would make an official announcement confirming a Guns N' Roses reunion with guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan on the show, along with a headlining appearance at Coachella and North American stadium tour for the summer.

Last night, the Coachella lineup was announced and it was revealed that Guns N' Roses would in fact be one of the festival's headlining acts. And the band lineup immediately started to take shape as Axl, Slash and Duff all took to their personal social media accounts to post the news, with Slash and Duff each sharing a GN'R / Coachella graphic on their respective Facebook pages.

So why did Axl Rose cancel his spot on Kimmel? The late night host commented on the situation last night. “Axl Rose was supposed to be here tomorrow, but he will not be here tomorrow, for reasons known only to Axl Rose," Kimmel laughed. "Or maybe he will be here and he’s just trying to keep us guessing. I don’t know.”

No specific reason was given as to why Axl canceled the appearance, with the L.A. Times reporting it was "due to unforeseen circumstances." Could Axl surprise us all and drop by Jimmy Kimmel Live! at the last minute? We'll be watching tonight to find out.
