Over the past few years, Killswitch Engage frontman Jesse Leach has shown his passion for dabbling in a variety of projects. His latest finds him delivering his first ever "spoken word" night during a scheduled show Jan. 21 in Melbourne, Australia.

A growing number of rockers have taken to the stage to share their stories and express some of the things that don't get put into music over the last few years, and the often thoughtful and personable Leach seems like a perfect choice to join the ranks of musicians making the jump into the "spoken word" forum.

The vocalist revealed the gig via his social networks, stating, "I'll be speaking about my childhood through my crazy teenage years till now. Revealing stories behind lyrics, music that inspired me and reciting some personal poetry. Just me and a room full of people, yikes, ha ha … It's kind of like a few chapters out of a book of my life that has yet to be written."

The rocker goes on to thank a couple of friends for encouraging him and adds, "I am equally excited and intimidated." He concludes that he's filming the show and will decide later whether to release it or not.

The evening will be hosted by Australia's Triple M Distortion host Higgo, and a small number of tickets and VIP meet-and-greet packages are available. The show will take place at Melbourne's Eureka Rebellion Trading. For ticketing info, click here and for additional show information, check the event's Facebook page.

As for Killswitch Engage, Leach revealed back in October that the band was starting to demo and getting ideas for their next album, but that it likely won't be until 2015 when they officially get rolling on the disc.
