The legendary King Diamond transformed New York City’s Best Buy Theater into his own hellish playground on Oct. 14. With a sold-out venue filled with passionate fans, it was one of the most notable shows New York metal fans have seen this year.

With decades of music in his discography, King Diamond started out with ‘The Candle’ and ‘Sleepless Nights,’ as he sang and teased fans behind tall, elegant gates. The song ‘Welcome Home’ featured an appearance by the very infamous and creepy grandma, who waved her decrepit cane at everyone.

At nearly 60 years old, King Diamond is still very much young at heart and is one of the most fascinating and talented performers in metal. The band as a whole had a vibrant stage presence, keeping fans entertained throughout the evening. Things only amped up on the floor of Best Buy Theater when the outfit performed Mercyful Fate songs ‘Evil’ and ‘Come to the Sabbath.'

The night came to an end with ‘The Family Ghost’ and ‘Black Horsemen’ off of 1987’s 'Abigail.' While we’ll relive the compelling night of music, we can only wait in anticipation until King Diamond makes his return to New York City again.
