Are you ready?! Korn have just announced the release of their 12th studio album, The Serenity of Suffering. Even more exciting, Korn have shared a creepy video for the new single “Rotting in Vain,” featuring Sons of Anarchy star Tommy Flanagan (watch below).

The Serenity of Suffering will hit shelves on Oct. 21 and marks Korn’s return to Roadrunner Records. The album was produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters / Deftones / Mastodon) and will feature a guest vocal performance from Slipknot’s Corey Taylor.

“Rotting in Vain” is classic Korn. Led by a heavy groove and chaotic atmosphere, the track spirals into darker realms with Jonathan Davis’ tortured vocals. "'Rotting in Vain' was written about being in that black place, being in situations that I don't like in life -- be it relationships, or feeling when you're stuck and you're just being abused or you don't like where you're at, and you just sit there and rot," shares Jonathan Davis.  "It takes you years and years to figure out how to claw your way out. That's where 'Rotting in Vain' came from. I'm just sitting there, f—ing dying and letting it happen for years and years and not helping myself to get out of that place. That's the vibe that inspired the song."

Korn’s video for “Rotting in Vain” feels gothic and suffocating as Flanagan’s character repeatedly inhales inhuman amounts of a mystery drug. Surrounded by dead animals, clocks, laboratory equipment and much more, Korn plow through “Rotting in Vain” while remaining understandably uncomfortable within their environment.
