It's a battle of self-titled albums in the Mosh Pit Region as Korn takes on Deicide in the first round of the March Metal Madness as we look to crown the Best Debut Metal Album of All Time!

In one corner is Korn's eponymous first offering, which ushered in a completely new style of metal, aptly referred to as nu-metal. With floor-hugging rhythms swinging with force and might, the band used this as their sticking point while exploring other areas like hip-hop inflected moments as Jonathan Davis' paranoid visions and voice helped drive the band into rock superstardom.

In death metal's formative years, Deicide were one of the genre's most imposing acts, led by Glen Benton who had burned an inverted cross in his forehead, backing up his Satanic and anti-Christian lyrics. Working groove into stuttered guitar playing, the Florida natives bashed their way through just over a half hour of Hell-certified vigor.
