It's Episode 13 of the Loudwire Podcast and our guests this time were Queensryche bassist Eddie Jackson and guitarist Michael Wilton! Masters of prog metal and truly down to earth guys, we got into a number of topics including their fresh reaction on the Grammy nominations, some history with the band as well as what's on the horizon and our pick for the Best Metal Replacement Singer in our 'Rocker vs. Writer' debate.

The 'Ryche guys stopped by right when the Grammy nominations came in, but they hadn't seen it yet. We presented them with the list for the rock categories and got their thoughts on Metallica being nominated for Best Rock Song for "Hardwired."

With Todd la Torre firmly entrenched as Queensryche's frontman, we pointed out the age difference between him and former singer Geoff Tate and how this has the potential to expand the overall lifespan of the group. It's apparent just how much Wilton and Jackson love having la Torre in the band along with the rest of the members, but wished Tate well.

In the 'Rocker vs. Writer' segment, we debated the Best Metal Replacement Singer in the spirit of Todd la Torre and also excluded him from nomination as arguing against him wouldn't have been fun for anyone! Loudwire's resident writer and host Joe DiVita selected Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson while Wilton took William DuVall of Alice in Chains and Jackson was a bit undecided, understandably unable to choose just one singer.
