Machine Head are anxious for the 2013 Mayhem Festival and have added some extra touring to get them in the right mindset. In a new posting the band has revealed they will play three headlining shows as part of 'The Road to Mayhem Tour.'

The performances will be the band's only headlining shows of 2013 and they've been scheduled so as not to conflict with the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival routing this summer.

Frontman Robb Flynn says, "We love playing in these markets. The fans in these places don't have the luxury of a hundred shows a month. They're starving for metal and they f---ing lose their marbles and go bananas when Machine Head comes there."

Guitarist Phil Demmel added, "All right summer '13, whatcha got?!?! West Coast Machine Head headlining shows before the Mayhem Fest, that's what!!!!! Look out Spokane, Portland and Fresno, prepare to be f---ed up!! We'll see you there!!"

The three dates will take place June 24 at the Knitting Factory in Spokane, Wash., on June 26 at the Hawthorne Theatre in Portland, Ore., and on June 28 at Fulton 55 in Fresno, Calif.

In addition, the band will play four post Mayhem Festival support dates joining Rob Zombie. Those dates include August 5 at the Sandstone Amphitheater in Bonner Springs, Kan., August 7 at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally at the Buffalo Chip in Sturgis, S.D., August 9 at the Lifestyles Communities Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio and at a still-to-be-determined August date at the Heavy MTL festival in Montreal.

Drummer Dave McClain says, "Our summer just got even better! Pretty excited to be doing a few Rob Zombie shows after Mayhem and also Heavy MTL in Montreal!"
