Machine Head guitarist Phil Demmel is a modern-day guitar hero, but the guitarist recently got inked with the likeness of his own guitar god, Randy Rhoads.

A few hours before Machine Head performed an Aug. 13 gig in Poland, Demmel stopped by the Rock'n'Roll Tattoo and Piercing Studio in Warsaw. The tattoo parlor produces some of the most stunning portrait work in the world with incredible lifelike quality and attention to detail. The studio has won a ton of awards, all of which are listed on its official Facebook page.

Demmel took advantage of the studio's use of heavy shadow work to have a photo of Randy Rhoads tuning up his guitar while smoking a cigarette inked onto Demmel's right thigh. A seven-minute video posted earlier this week shows the entire process of the tattoo's creation from paper to skin.

After the session, Demmel took pictures with the Rock'n'Roll Tattoo crew and finally showed off the finished product, which looks pretty damn amazing.

"Watching Randy at 10 a.m. in the Oakland Coliseum was my first concert experience and it was life-changing," Demmel told Bizarre Guitar earlier this year. "It made me want to not only play guitar, but to perform with passion and emotion."
