Welcome to Round 2 of Loudwire’s March Metal Madness 2013, the tournament to determine the greatest metal album of all time.

After the conclusion of Round 1, a total of 16 metal albums are left standing, while 16 others have fallen. There were some incredible battles in the first round, with Dream Theater beating Dio after some drastic lead changes and Slipknot only narrowly escaping defeat at the hands of Exodus at the very last minute.

In Round 2, we’ve got powerhouse match-ups such as Slayer vs. Anthrax, Metallica vs. Motorhead and Pantera vs. Iron Maiden. Check out our latest batch of head-to-head showdowns and keep voting to name the greatest metal album ever recorded!

Voting for this round will end Monday, March 25 at 11:59 PM ET, and of the 16 albums featured in Round 2, half of them will move on to the quarterfinals. Click the button below to begin voting!
