It's March and you know what that means! As the NCAA 'March Madness' college basketball tournament creates a frenzy as everyone scrambles to fill out a bracket to predict the winner, we're continuing a tradition of our own: March Metal Madness! It doesn't matter if you like basketball or not, we only have one prerequisite — you have to be a metal fan! In this year's March Metal Madness, we're starting off with 32 tracks from the new millennium as they fight for the right to be crowned the Best Metal Song of the 21st Century.

Bands old and new are squaring off head-to-head after being divided into four regions: Headbanger, Stave Dive, Devil Horn and Mosh Pit. There's no easy region out there with bands like Slipknot, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Disturbed, System of a Down, Five Finger Death Punch, Tool and more to content with. All the matchups in each region can be seen below.

Each band will need your votes to send their song into the next round. Voting in Round 1 is under way, so click the red button below to begin! Fans can vote in each matchup once per hour until the poll closes for Round 1 at 9AM on Tuesday, March 8. Keep coming back to make sure your favorites make it to the next round in our March Metal Madness tournament to determine the Best Metal Song of the 21st Century!
