Before legendary Ramones drummer Marky Ramone was a punk rocker, he was Marc Bell and he kept the beat for New York hard rock / heavy metal band Dust. As one of the first American heavy metal acts, Dust released two solid albums, 'Dust' and 'Hard Attack.' Forty years later, the two records have just been re-released, and we snagged an interview with Marky Ramone to chat about all things Dust.

Having acquired the rights to the two Dust recordings, Sony Legacy put out a reissued and remastered the albums in one package to introduce younger generations to the roots of heavy metal. The deluxe release is available at Amazon.com and iTunes.

Packed to the brim with talent, the members of Dust created some tremendously powerful music together, along with achieving added success as individuals after the band's demise. In our recent video interview with Marky Ramone, the drummer raved about Dust, while explaining the cast differences between his punk and heavy metal drumming styles.
