Mastodon Cancel Tour Dates Due to 'Personal Family Matter'

Some unfortunate news has been released concerning both Mastodon and the band's fans. Due to a "personal family matter," Mastodon have been forced to cancel a month's worth of tour dates.

Mastodon were scheduled to play a rich string of international dates from Aug. 7 to Sept. 3, but due to the band's situation, all the shows have been canceled with no word of rescheduling. The dates include Mastodon's scheduled performance at Heavy Montreal, as well as a number of European festiva;. Although Mastodon's Reykjavik, Iceland, show on Sept. 5 was also affected, that gig has been rescheduled to take place on Dec. 5.

Mastodon issued a press release reading:

Mastodon regretfully announce they must cancel their upcoming shows that were to take place from August 7th through September 3rd due to a personal family matter. Mastodon will return to the road in Latin America in Late September. The September 5th show in Iceland has been rescheduled for December 5th. Please see below for all canceled dates.

As of this posting, Latin American fans planning to see Mastodon in late September have nothing to worry about, as the band's shows are still scheduled to continue as planned. Stay tuned to Loudwire for any further updates.
