We would like to wish a very happy 48th birthday today (April 17) to ToolA Perfect CirclePuscifer singer Maynard James Keenan. Having spent almost 30 years of his life dedicated to music, among many other pursuits such as winemaking, comedy and martial arts, Keenan is the ultimate Renaissance man.

Tool was formed in 1990 when guitarist Adam Jones heard Keenan's vocals and was inspired to create a band. Recruiting drummer Danny Carey and bassist Paul D'Amour, the band quickly gained a cult following after the release of their 1992 'Opiate' EP. The band has since released four full-length albums -- 'Undertow,' 'Ænima,' 'Lateralus' and '10,000 Days.'

Keenan devoted himself to side project A Perfect Circle during Tool's post-Ænima hiatus. A Perfect Circle released three discs -- 'Mer de Noms,' 'Thirteenth Step' and 'Emotive.' Although the band declared that they were "done for now" yet "alive and well," in 2005, A Perfect Circle have currently been "kicking around some stuff," according to Keenan.

The vocalist's most recent musical project, Puscifer, features Keenan with "a revolving door of talented people," including singer Carina Round and actress Milla Jovovich. Puscifer has released two EPs, three remix albums and two full-length albums, the latest being the stunningly beautiful yet campy 'Conditions of My Parole."
