We recently reported that Woods of Ypres frontman David Gold tragically passed away on Dec. 22 in a car accident near Barrie, Ontario. He was just 31 at the time of his death. Gold's sister posted new information about the memorial services that are planned for Gold this coming Wednesday, Dec. 28.

She wrote, as per Brave Words & Bare Knuckles, a note which detailed the memorial and revealed that a celebratory gathering will be held in the musician's honor. It will include all of the notes that have been sent during the outpouring of support that the Gold family has received since their son's untimely death.

If friends or fans of the doom metal band are able to contribute financially, information on how to do so is included in Marie Gold's posting.

The text of her note is as follows:

"Friends, fans and family of David Gold and the Gold Family:

Our plans have slightly changed. We have just finalized arrangements to have a formal funeral service for David. It will be held at Northwood Funeral Home in Sault Ste Marie on Wednesday December 28th, located at 942 Great Northern Road. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 4:00 PM, with service to follow. We will be having a party afterwards starting at 6:00 PM, the details and location will be posted shortly. All of the amazing letters sent to me will be printed off to allow everyone to view the positive impact he had on so many people's lives. If you still wish to contribute, please send me an e-mail. Donations can be made to support the cost of his service, please contact me for further information (mariechristinegold@hotmail.com). If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Please forward this information to anyone you think would be interested in coming. I look forward to seeing everyone there."

Brave Words & Bare Knuckles have also posted a detailed obituary on Gold that offers more details about his life and his music.
