Swedish metal band Meshuggah will be releasing their highly anticipated eighth studio album in just a matter of weeks. Rumors regarding the album title have been making the rounds on the internet but now the band has confirmed that the new collection of tunes will be officially be called 'Koloss' and will hit stores March 27.

The band says their new music will offer a little bit of everything for their die-hard fans, as well as new fans just now becoming familiar with their music.

"As always, we try to take our music in a slightly different direction with each album," says the band's drummer, Tomas Haake. "With 'Koloss,' we feel that we really nailed what we were going for -- organic brutality, viscera and groove all crammed into a 54-minute metalicious treat, best avoided by the faint of heart!"

If their previous albums and success will be any signs of how fans will take to 'Koloss,' chances are they will have one more hot-selling record on their hands. Their 2008 release, 'obZen,' has sold over 82,000 copies in the U.S. and debuted at #59 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. It also clinched the #14 spot on the iTunes Top Rock Albums chart, was the No. 1 Most Added metal album on the CMJ Loud Rock and FMQB radio charts. Not too shabby!

Metalheads can keep up with all the latest from Meshuggah by following them on Twitter or checking out their official website and Facebook page.
