Black Sabbath’s ‘Black Sabbath’ is probably the heaviest and most evil metal track of all time, but in my opinion, Suffocation is the heaviest, most insanely brutal death metal band on the planet. Seeing Suffo live is like being crushed by a brick wall that was pushed off Mt. Everest.

Well as much as I respect your musical opinions, if we are speaking about METAL (The entire genre) You guys need to get off the top 10 charts from the 80′s and listen to some underground, gut- wrenching, ear- bleeding metal. If we speak in terms of the HEAVIEST metal band, I would have to say Sunn O))), Pyha, or Electric Wizard (Along with other “stoner” metal bands)

fucking DIO, hardly ever seems to get a mention yet they have hammered out some of the wikidest shit ever. Ronnie James Dio, deceased, even said he was possessed by satan himself, his range was incredible, and he most certainly is with his mate now paying the price of his dedication, eternal torments

Depends on the definition really. I still think Black Sabbath have it. They may not have the noise or aggression of some bands but to me that can sound over done. Sabbath riffs almost sound effortless in their simplicity. If you want heavy in terms of pure sonic onslaught your going into a cul de sac.
