Something is brewing with Metal Allegiance, the headbanging collective which features the nucleus of Alex Skolnick, David Ellefson, Mike Portnoy and Mark Menghi. There's rumblings of a new album in the works and the group has just announced a solitary gig destined for New York City on Sept. 6 with Venom Inc.

Metal Allegiance shows are somewhat of a rarity as the band's members maintain busy touring and recording schedules, but they've carved out some time to perform at the Gramercy Theatre. Historically, the group has welcomed a litany of guest artists to the stage as metal icons hammer out classics from Metallica, Black SabbathMotorhead and others alongside their own original material from their eponymous 2015 debut.

No other details have emerged, but with the past as evidence, fans can expect a star-studded set lined with all-time hits from rock and metal luminaries.

Venom Inc. are comprised of classic Venom members Mantas (guitar) and Abaddon (drums) and are flanked by Tony "Demolition Man" Dolan, who replaced Cronos as Venom's frontman between 1989 and 1992. The group released, Avé, their debut under this new moniker, last year.

In January of 2017, Metal Allegiance performed a special set in Los Angeles and dedicated the night to their "Fallen Heroes," playing material from rockers who had passed on. The night saw extra supporting members Chuck Billy (Testament), Chris Jericho (Fozzy), Gary Holt (Exodus, Slayer), Mark Osegueda (Death Angel) and more all rotate in and out throughout the night.
