Gramercy Theater in New York City recently played host to Metal Allegiance, an all-star band of musicians that features drummer Mike Portnoy and Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick among its core members.

The New York show included Fozzy's Chris Jericho, Testament’s Chuck Billy and Death Angel's Mark Osegueda among the vocalists. Jericho began the set with “Electric Eye” by Judas Priest.

Iron Maiden anthems “The Ides of March,” “Wrathchild” and “The Prisoner” filled the venue as did Black Sabbath’s “Into the Void” and “Heaven and Hell.” Not only did the vocalists knock it out of the park but there was some incredible guitar shredding by Skolnick and  Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal.

Metal Allegiance also unleashed original tracks off of their self-titled debut album, including “Can’t Kill the Devil” featuring Chuck Billy and “Pledge of Allegiance” featuring Mark Osegueda. Towards the end of the set everyone rocked out to AC/DC’s “Whole Lotta Rosie” with a solo provided by Bumblefoot.

The night ended with the encore of Metallica’s “Seek and Destroy.” Max Portnoy (son of Mike Portnoy), who performed in the opening act Next to None, played drums with his dad.
