Metallica are boldly going where so many of their peers have gone before - they're joining the Funko family! Come August, the stylized POP! vinyl figures can now stand their 3 and 3/4-inch selves alongside fellow mini-models Guns N' Roses and Lemmy Kilmister.

The Metallica series of Pop! Rocks vinyl figures includes all four members of the band and come in a window display box. They can be purchased via the band's website as a full-set for $43.96 or individually for $10.99 each. Pre-orders are being taken now.

All four members of Metallica are represented, but it's a bit of "One of These Things Is Not Like the Other." James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich and Kirk Hammett are all modeled after how they looked during The Black Album-era. Obviously Robert Trujillo wasn't in the band then, but instead of putting him in an Infectious Grooves or Suicidal Tendencies shirt - which he was likely wearing in 1991 while in both bands - designers went for the modern look the bass player rocks and clad him in a tank top with the Load-era "ninja star" logo.

James is adorned with a Fu Manchu connected-to-a-beard facial hair and has his then ubiquitous white ESP Gibson Explorer guitar, though it has the Metallica logo stamped on it rather than his standard "EET F-K" scrawl. Lars gets a drumstick for each hand, and his '80s into '90s, mullet is on full tilt.

As for Kirk...that's where things get a bit strange; it's not the fact the figure doesn't quite resemble the guitarist, but rather it's an almost exact doppelganger for drummer Frankie Banali. So if you're a big fan of Quiet Riot, you could always just get the Hammett figure, remove the guitar and commence with banging your head!
