It’s being promoted that Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett will lead a group of musicians under the banner "The Wedding Band" in covering classic rock songs at a special event in Canada next month.

Including Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo along with Ugly Kid Joe singer Whitfield Crane plus former Queens of the Stone Age and Danzig drummer Joey Castillo, the Wedding Band are scheduled to perform tunes by Black Sabbath, AC/DC and more during the one-off concert at Ontario's Cosmopolitan Music Hall at Cosmo Music, the Canadian musical instrument retailer organizing the event.

Set for Friday, July 26, at 8PM, during a brief break in Metallica's 2019 "WorldWired Tour," the Wedding Band performance is due to follow a Kirk Hammett meet and greet for VIP ticket holders that starts two hours earlier.

"The Wedding Band is not just your typical cover band. Actually maybe they are…" Cosmo Music's webpage for the event depicts. "But the band members are certainly not typical. We're extremely excited to welcome Kirk Hammett joined by his good friends Rob Trujillo, Whitfield Crane, and Joey Castillo for a special event. This unlikely bunch is coming to play all your favorite classic covers from bands like AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Billy Idol and more. This is going to be an event you’ll never forget — don’t miss out!"

Tickets — which are $300 plus tax — go on sale June 27 at 12PM ET/9AM PT. Limited to two per person, only 100 tickets will be released in total for the special event. The ticket price includes the Kirk Hammett meet and greet, a signed poster and a limited edition Kirk Hammett Monster Mash Up Funko Pop! figure.

Meanwhile, Metallica’s “WorldWired Tour” continues on, with Hammett and Trujillo getting plenty of covers action nightly with their “doodles” in the sets. Get ticketing info here.
