Muse are back with the new song “Psycho” off their upcoming album Drones. The band just released the official lyric video for the track, and you can watch the clip above.

The song and video start off with a military figure yelling, and this authoritative and pejorative dialogue is featured throughout the track. Overall, the song is heavier and darker than some of Muse's previous work.

In a recent post on the band’s website, frontman Matt Bellamy had this to say, “To me, drones are metaphorical psychopaths which enable psychopathic behavior with no recourse. The world is run by drones utilizing drones to turn us all into drones. This album explores the journey of a human, from their abandonment and loss of hope, to their indoctrination by the system to be a human drone, to their eventual defection from their oppressors."

Muse worked with Robert John “Mutt” Lange to co-produce the disc. Lange has produced albums for a slew of legendary bands including AC/DC, Def Leppard and Foreigner, along with efforts by Maroon 5, Nickelback and Shania TwainDrones will be released on June 9 and you can pre-order the disc on Amazon, iTunes and the band's official store.  The band kick off their sold out U.K.  tour on March 15 and then they’ll spend much of May, June and July touring Europe.
