New Music Showcase: Exclusive Premieres From Bella D, The Giraffes + Vesuvius

Welcome to Loudwire's New Music Showcase! Each week we’re giving space to some up-and-coming acts to premiere their new music, whether it be music videos, lyric videos, songs or even album streams. The New Music Showcase runs each Thursday and this week we’re taking a look at new videos from Bella D and The Giraffes, as well as giving you an early listen to the new Vesuvius album.

Bella D featuring DRMAGDN, "Starlight" - Video Premiere

It's time to check out Bella D, the steampunk-inspired symphonic rock songstress, as she puts her stamp on the Muse song "Starlight" with her own haunting take and captivating video. With an assist from DRMAGDN, Bella D lets her soaring vocals power the song.

Bella D says of her cover, "When we reinvented Muse’s 'Starlight,' the gravity and darkness brought a new and deep meaning to the song. There is longing and sadness in our version of someone desperately trying to find their way home. The song starts small but ends in a musical supernova that triumphantly heralds an epic and exciting future that lies ahead."

This track is not part of Bella D's new album, The Crystal Ceiling, which is due out on May 13, but it does show the power of her voice and what she can do. But if you want to pick up the song, you can do so via iTunes. Plus there's an interesting tie in as The Crystal Ceiling album has an accompanying comic book series that will be available for purchase digitally on May 13. Physical copies will follow on May 19. The Giraffes, "Washing Machine" - Video Premiere

The Giraffes are back with their sixth studio album, Usury, and we're bringing you the new video for "Washing Machine" off the disc. The short film comes from Andrei Zakow and Shawn Regruto and is a Dirty Work production.

As you can see in the clip below, it's a bizarrely sexual clip filled with a masked woman, a glammed out couple vomiting glitter and some pretty nifty subway pole dancing moves among other striking visuals. "From the first listen, the song felt both seductive and disturbing," state the Dirty Work duo. "There's a cinematic quality right from the start and then it becomes this wild roller coaster ride."

As stated, "Washing Machine" is featured on The Giraffes' Usury album. The disc is currently available via Amazon and iTunes. Look for The Giraffes playing the Project Pabst Festival in Denver on May 21 and the Northside Festival in Brooklyn on June 11 and stay tuned here to see when The Giraffes announce more tour dates.

Vesuvius, My Place of Solace and Rest - Album Stream Premiere

Get to know Vesuvius. The Canadian rockers are ramping up to the release of their debut album, My Place of Solace and Rest, which will drop in stores tomorrow (May 6) via Tragic Hero Records. But first you can check out the album before it arrives with the full album stream below.

Vocalist Billy Melsness explains, "This is the greatest artistic endeavor any of us have ever been apart of, and to say that we've poured our mind, body and soul into this is nowhere near a hyperbole." Co-vocalist Ben Cooligan adds that the disc is part of what the band calls "the Vesuvius sound." He explains, "It's a theme implemented throughout the music that refers to the structure of each piece the two have put together. Each song is structured with an 'emotional crux' often sitting in the middle of the piece. Throughout the build and break of the tracks, each piece ebbs and flows in order to create the greatest impact when it reaches its climax."
