Nightwish have been busy lately on their world tour in support of their new album ‘Imaginaerum.’ They released the disc's first single ‘Storytime’ last year and now they have released a brand new single ‘The Crow, The Owl and The Dove.’

In our exclusive interview with Nightwish’s Tuomas Holopainen, he talked all about the new tune by saying, “It’s the only song on the album which is written by Marco [Hietala] and it’s a funny thing that the most metal head in the band has the most poppy song on the album.”

He went on to explain, “When we had to choose the second single, obviously singles these days are all about radio play, so basically you just have to find the most radio friendly song on the album and that’s why we chose that."

Holopainen concluded, “It’s a fantastic song and it has quite a deep meaning behind it. I love Henry David Thoreau, the author and I read his book ‘Walden’ and that’s where I got the idea for the lyrics for the song.”
