Nikki Sixx Thanks Fans for Support in Wake of Mother’s Death
This past weekend, Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx shared the tragic news that his mother Deana Richards had passed away at the age of 74. While the details regarding her death were very scarce, Sixx has since taken to Facebook to thank his fans for their support throughout this difficult time.
In a short post on his Facebook page, Sixx shared his regret for not trying to rebuild his relationship with his mother and reminding everyone to seize the day. He also talked about how his fans have helped him through this hard time, reminding him of the common bonds that tie us all together.
Thank you for all the supportive posts here and on Twitter about the passing of my Mom. Her and my grandfather Tom's recent passing is a gentle reminder of how fragile time is and a not so gentle sledgehammer to the heart that none of us get out of this life alive. If your wasting time procrastinating on anything trust me when I say "You'll be sorry".
I waited too long after a rocky road with my mother to try and rebuild the broken fence's.You can never get time back.We all make mistakes and that was mine.....Again,thank you because it reminds me reading your posts how much we're all alike.......
Backing up that sentiment, Sixx, who actively communicates with his fans via social networking, recently lamented about wanting a break from touring to spend some quality time with his family and friends. While he assured fans that he takes nothing for granted, he did admit that the constant touring has been wearing on him.
Motley Crue recently wrapped up their North American tour dates with just a handful of festival outings remaining on their schedule throughout the summer before they kick off their second residency at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas in September.
