Founding Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx faced a formidable opponent in Manowar founding member Joey Demaio. Ultimately, Sixx was triumphant over the defender of true steel in a fairly close matchup. Sixx is a crucial element of the Motley Crue sound and is the main songwriter in the down-and-dirty metal band.

Iron Maiden's Steve Harris scored a landslide victory over Markus Grosskopf of Helloween, showing that he could prove to be one of the most formidable opponents in the Greatest Metal Bassist tournament. His feverish work in Iron Maiden speaks for itself, proving the test of time as the band is still on top of its game.
