Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor Unveils ‘Dragon Tattoo’ Score Preview

Nine Inch Nails mastermind Trent Reznor picked up an Oscar for his score work on 'The Social Network' and his ominous audio set the tone for the film, making the Academy Award well-earned and deserved. Reznor is currently working on the score for David Fincher's much anticipated remake of 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' and a lengthy sample of the score appears on the film's official website along with a graphic image of stars Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara.

Reznor announced the posting of the track via a tweet that simply says "It begins..." Give the movie's website (link posted below) a minute to load. It takes a moment for the audio to get going, but trust us: it's worth it. There's no title and no details, just the music. It's dark, creepy, foreboding, chilling and eerie; in essence, it's everything you expect from the NIN guru.

Check your forearms because your baby fine hairs might be standing on end thanks this terrifying, escalating tension, mystery and ambience put forth by Reznor and his musical partner, Atticus Ross. Reznor shared his 'Social Network' Oscar with Ross.

Reznor and Ross have spent much of 2011 holed up and working on scoring 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.' Judging from this sample, and the dark tone of the novel on which the film is based, they are not going to disappoint us with their effort.

This sample isn't the first music we've heard from the film. Reznor's collaboration with Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer Karen O on a cover of Led Zeppelin's 'Immigrant Song' was used in an early trailer for Fincher's film.

While NIN might be in Reznor's rear view right now, we're accentuating the positive, and that's the fact that Reznor is still creating haunting music that carves its place in your brain.
