Opeth Bring ‘Pale Communion’ Tour to NYC With In Flames and Red Fang
With their eleventh studio album ‘Pale Communion’ under their belts, Opeth just completed a late 2014 tour in support of the disc. Their show in New York City was a packed one at Terminal 5, as the evening also included incredible performances by In Flames and Red Fang.
Opeth began their set with new songs ‘Eternal Rains Will Come’ and ‘Cusps of Eternity’ off of ‘Pale Communion.' Fans amped up when favorites ‘The Drapery Falls,’ ‘Windowpane’ and ‘The Lotus Eater’ were performed.
When Opeth perform live, anyone watching is completely entranced. The melodies of the music and the vocals of Mikael Akerfeldt are nothing short of infectious and completely captivating. Every Opeth fan in Terminal 5 sang aloud to the set-ending ‘Deliverance.’
In Flames took the stage beforehand and had a powerful set that began with the hard hitting tracks ‘In Plain View’ and ‘Everything’s Gone’ off their new album ‘Siren Charms.’ Onstage, In Flames are very engaging with their energetic fans who bounced and crowdsurfed throughout the invigorating set. Their sweat filled performance also included notable songs ‘Only for the Weak,’ ‘Trigger,’ and ‘Take This Life.’
Red Fang opened up the night with a very heavy set that included new songs 'Crows in Swine' and 'Blood Like Cream' off their latest disc, 'Whales and Leeches,' and ended with 'Prehistoric Dog' off their debut album. Check out photos of all the bands below!
