Opeth previously announced some special 25th anniversary tour dates in Europe which will take place in October. American fans will also be able to see the anniversary shows as the band has just revealed two U.S. dates.

The concerts, dubbed "An Evening With Opeth," will be Oct. 22 in New York at the Beacon Theater and Oct. 24 in Los Angeles at the Orpheum Theater. The band will play two sets during each show. They are marking the 10th anniversary of Ghost Reveries by playing the 2005 album in its entirety, plus another set of songs from throughout their quarter-century career.

Frontman Mikael Akerfeldt says, “The forces that be put up a very mystical and subtle little advert on the so called internet.  Yes, we will celebrate 25 years of being Opeth in 2015 and this is reason enough to gather up the forces and play.  For you.”

Tickets go on sale Friday, May 1 at 10AM local time with VIP/fan club presale beginning Wednesday, April 29 at 10AM local time.

Between now and this fall's October anniversary shows, Opeth have plenty of other touring on their calendar in support of their latest album Pale Communion. They'll be playing in Japan and Australia over the next couple of weeks and have a string of dates in Mexico and South America in July along with several European festivals throughout the summer. Here's their complete tour schedule.
