New Jersey metal icons Overkill and Symphony X made their way over to New York City for the last date of their co-headlining fall tour. Passionate fans packed Terminal 5 for a thrashing good time.

Bobby Blitz hit the stage with the rest of the Overkill crew and began their forceful set with “Armorist,” “Hammerhead” and “Electric Rattlesnake.” As the night progressed, things really kicked into high gear as everyone headbanged and shouted to favorites “Rotten to the Core,” “Hello From the Gutter” and “Ironbound.”

With an astounding 30 years of music and more energy than bands half their age, Overkill continue to perform their timeless crushing anthems. The night ended with a sweaty performance of “Elimination” and their cover of the Subhumans' “F--- You.”

Fellow New Jersians Symphony X performed beforehand and frontman Russell Allen hit all the right notes. Half of the band’s performance included new material like “Nevermore,”  “Without You,” “Kiss of Fire,” “Charon,” “To Hell and Back” and the title track from their latest release, Underworld.  With a catalog of music spanning two decades and nine albums, Allen belted out fan favorites “Of Sins and Shadows,” “Serpent’s Kiss” and “Set the World on Fire (The Lie of Lies).”

Sanctuary kicked things into high gear to begin the night of metal. The band unleashed notable tracks “Die for My Sins” and “Taste Revenge," while frontman Warren Dale ended the set by saying, “Stay F---ing Metal!” With these three bands in action everyone stayed f---ing metal!
