There's no questioning the legacy of Ozzy Osbourne, and this fall the metal icon will receive yet another honor for the body of work he's put in over the years. Osbourne will be saluted with the Global Icon Award at the MTV European Music Awards in Glasgow, Scotland in November.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the MTV EMAs will take place on Nov. 9 and will air on MTV channels around the world. The event will be held at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow.

Bruce Gillmer, the executive VP of talent and music programming/events at Viacom, stated, "Ozzy's impact on music and pop culture has been tremendous. For over four decades (and counting!), he's entertained, influenced, inspired and sometimes shocked legions of diehard fans around the globe."

This fall, Osbourne's solo career will be in the spotlight as he issues the expansive 'Memoirs of a Madman' CD and DVD collection. Osbourne also recently revealed that he will get together with his Black Sabbath bandmates to record one more album and play one final tour before they retire.

Osbourne joins such past MTV Global Icon Award winners as Eminem, Whitney Houston, Queen and Bon Jovi in receiving the honor.
