Ozzy Osbourne Performs Black Sabbath + Solo Hits at ‘An Evening with Women’ Cancer Benefit

Black Sabbath vocalist Ozzy Osbourne dropped by the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center’s ‘An Evening with Women’ cancer fundraiser on May 18. Hosted by comedienne Kathy Griffin, musicians Natasha Bedingfield and Sia performed at the function, but the highlight of the night was Ozzy himself, who performed a short set consisting of both Black Sabbath and solo hits.

Ozzy was joined onstage by an all-star backing band, including guitarist Steve Stevens (Billy Idol), guitarist Billy Morrison (Billy Idol, Camp Freddy), keyboardist Derek Sherinian (Billy Idol, ex-Dream Theater) and drummer Tommy Clufetos (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath). Ozzy and his band jammed through the Sabbath classics ‘War Pigs’ (watch above) and ‘Paranoid,’ with the solo classic ‘Crazy Train’ sandwiched in between the two. One piece of fan-filmed footage reveals that Ozzy was using a teleprompter to stay on top of his lyrical prowess, but we forgive the Prince of Darkness and his effort to raise money for those struggling with cancer.

The ‘An Evening with Women’ event also served as a positive sign for the marriage of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, which has been struggling due to Ozzy’s recent relapse into drugs and alcohol. The couple have reportedly been living apart recently, but Sharon and Ozzy were all smiles while walking the event’s red carpet with daughter Kelly.
