Australian metalcore rockers Parkway Drive have unleashed the ferocious video for “Prey.” Watch the energetic clip in the player above.

The performance-based video features the band on a soundstage interspersed with a lot of classic religious imagery including Michelangelo’s “The Creation of Adam," which dates back to 1512. The stylized clips also feature old-school film burns giving it a vintage look.

“Prey” follows the release of the band’s recent singles “Wishing Wells” and “The Void,” which are all from their upcoming album Reverence.

Frontman Winston McCall said Reverence is the band’s most sonically adventurous and most personal to date. The album was inspired by a series of tragedies the band has endured, including the untimely loss of two loved ones. “We took stock of what we had and realized what actually mattered. What we went through was horrendous,” McCall said.

The vocalist added, “I hope Reverence is the kind of album that redefines what people expect of us, in the sense that you can now expect the unexpected. This time around we’ve taken more risks, and I don’t think we’ve ever sounded more interesting.”

Parkway Drive’s sixth studio album, Reverence, will be released on May 4, via Epitaph. The effort is available for pre-order here.

The group will kick off their headlining tour on April 26 in Nashville, Tenn. See all their tour dates here.
