Pierce the Veil may have visited some shady places while on tour over the years, but likely never anything quite like what we get in the band's new video for "Circles." The clip just premiered on MTV and it finds the band stopping at a rundown old hotel with a rather odd innkeeper who has his own agenda for his new guests.

The clip is loosely based on the 1991 film Nothing But Trouble starring Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase about a horrific estate that unsuspecting guests have trouble escaping. Singer Vic Fuentes told Alternative Press, "In that movie there – it's sort of like a slap-stick horror movie about trying to escape an old house from an old man that runs the house. So we kind of loosely based it off of that and we kind of adjusted it more to what would we be doing, you know? Everyday we have to check into a hotel on tour and so we kind of based it off of like, 'What if we checked into this hotel and it was just this haunted hotel with this old man who tried to send us through his bag of tricks in his house and capture us.' And it's like he would be doing this for years and all of these bands had disappeared, you know? In this house and we're trying to help each other out of it. So yeah, it's kind of based on this idea for the video."

The video also stars former MTV VJ and current radio host Matt Pinfield under layers of makeup to play the innkeeper, who appears to have a history of messing with bands. Watch how it all plays out in the clip above.

"Circles" is the fast-rising single from Pierce the Veil's Misadventures album, which arrived earlier this year. The band is currently off the road (and hopefully not residing in any scary hotels), but they'll resume their touring in September and October with a North American trek, followed by dates in Europe in late October and November.
