There are already quite a few rock festivals scheduled for the spring and early summer, but the Operation Rock Festival is the one that stands out for its commitment to the military men and women who serve our country. The event, which features headliners Pop Evil and Nonpoint, will take place June 21 in Fredericksburg, Va.

Operation Rock Fest is going to have "a 21 Band Salute to the Troops," with the scheduled acts playing on two separate stages throughout the day. As one of the nods to the soldiers in attendance, organizers have designed what they're calling 'The Heroes Hangar,' an area that sits between the two stages and provides special viewing of both stages. A select number of military personnel will be granted access to the best seats in the house.

In order to gain entry, organizers are asking those wishing to speak on behalf of specific soldiers to write why their hero or themselves should be allowed to the see the show from the 'Heroes Hangar.' The winning entrant and their guest will be allowed access. Stories may be submitted to OpRockFest@gmail.com.

In addition to Pop Evil and Nonpoint, other bands on the bill include Saving Abel, Gemini Syndrome, Bobaflex, Love and Death, Super Bob, Like a Storm, Elisium, Almost Kings, Wayland, Another Lost Year, Blacklite District, Blameshift and more.
