Queens of the Stone Age are a favorite in several categories as the 56th Annual Grammy Awards approach this Sunday (Jan. 26), and a good sign for their Sunday night is that the band has just been announced as the closing performers for “music’s biggest night.”

The group will take part in what is being billed as “a once in a lifetime grand finale performance.” What is known about the show closer is that the band will join fellow nominees Nine Inch Nails and Dave Grohl as well as special guest Lindsey Buckingham. Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl were both special guests for Queens of the Stone Age’s ‘… Like Clockwork’ album. Meanwhile, Buckingham (along with Reznor and Queens of the Stone Age’s Joshua Homme) was a guest on Dave Grohl’s ‘Sound City’ documentary soundtrack, which itself is up for two Grammys.

Queens of the Stone Age are nominated for Best Rock Album (‘… Like Clockwork’), Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical and Best Rock Performance (‘My God Is the Sun’) at the Grammy Awards. The 56th Annual Grammy Awards air at 8PM ET/PT on CBS this Sunday night (Jan. 26).

In other Queens of the Stone Age news, the band will return to the road for their “Post Southwest Grammy Victory Lap” later this month, with a few additional headline and festival dates at Coachella and the Hangout Festival keeping them busy through the spring. The trek launches Jan. 30 in Raleigh, N.C. To see the full North American itinerary, check below.
