Radkey Unleash Chaotic Claymation Video for ‘Glore’
You'll want to turn this one up and rock out, but get ready for a frenetic visual assault for the eyes as rising rockers Radkey have delivered one of the more eye-catching clips of the year. The video is for their song "Glore" and it was shot using the Claymation mastery of director Nicos Livesey and the Blinkink production company.
The psychedelic, mind-bending, face-melting animation finds the trio of Dee, Isaiah and Solomon Radke mesmerized on their couch with a dizzying amount of commercial and video game imagery. As the video's description reads, "Think Celebrity Death Match meets Jackass meets Beavis and Butthead meets skateboarding, fun-loving kids who don't give a f--k … and you've got 'Glore.'"
Livesey says he was attracted to the song, stating that it will make you "wanna run around drinking beer and throwing up Haribo." Given that mental imagery, it's no wonder he was the perfect fit to direct the clip. In total, it took ten weeks to complete the clip, which initially screened on the U.K. Channel 4 series Random Acts.
"Glore" is featured on Radkey's debut disc, Dark Black Makeup. The album is out now and you can pick it up via iTunes. Having recently finished a North American tour, the band is currently playing overseas. See their European and U.K. dates here.
