Red Hot Chili Peppers have amassed about a zillion spins on the radio through the years, but singer Anthony Kiedis insists that hearing his band over the airwaves never gets old.

“I still get freaked out when old songs of ours come on the radio," the singer tells Los Angeles radio station KROQ in an exclusive interview. "‘Hey guys! That’s us!’ It’s very exciting. I remember the first time I heard a song on the radio and it still means just as much to me.”

Drummer Chad Smith agrees: “It doesn’t get old. It’s great. It’s cool. It’s fun. I think, ‘I can’t believe we’re on the radio.' Or, the song before or after and you go, ‘Wow, how cool I came after this one or before that one,' or whatever, you know? No, it makes it seem more real to me . . . when you just hear it on the radio, someone else is playing it!”

‘The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie,' the first single off the Peppers' forthcoming new album, 'I'm With You,' is already garnering massive radio airplay. Check out the video for the track here. 'I'm With You' drops Monday (Aug. 29).
