Rob Halford – Iron Men of Rock

That voice! It’s amazing that Rob Halford was able to hit some of those great metal high notes in the first place, but to still be doing it consistently into his 60s is a testament to his iron man status.

Athens Wood, Abraxas, Thark and Hiroshima were just a few of the acts that preceded Judas Priest, which formed in 1969. The band quickly established themselves as one of metal’s pioneers in the ’70s, but by 1991, Halford would exit the band amidst growing tensions. The next decade-plus found Halford launching intriguing projects like Fight, 2wo and Halford before eventually reconciling with Judas Priest in 2003.
