You can chalk up the inaugural run of Rob Zombie‘s ‘Great American Nightmare’ as a huge success. Zombie’s horror-themed attraction pulled in monster crowds at the Pomona FEARPlex in Pomona, Calif., with over 8,500 people turning up on the Zombie-headlined final night (Nov. 2) .

“After 32 years in the haunted house business, the final weekend of Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare had the largest crowds I have ever witnessed,” said haunted house producer Steve Kopelman. “We ran more than 8,500 people through the attractions on the final night. We are extremely proud of the event we built and the partnership with Rob Zombie, and look forward to 2014.”

In addition to the nightly music performances, the attraction featured three fully immersive haunted house experiences all based on Zombie’s own films — ‘The Lords of Salem in Total Black Out,’ ‘The Haunted World of El Superbeasto 3D’ and the ‘Haunt of 1,000 Corpses.’ The Great American Nightmare was staged every Thursday through Sunday from Oct. 10 through Nov. 2, with Zombie booking a variety of musical guests to perform each evening.
