Anthrax thrash master Scott Ian recently announced on Twitter that he will be making an appearance in the upcoming season of AMC’s smash hit ‘The Walking Dead.’ Posting a photo (above) of himself in his zombie make-up, Ian tweeted “What have I wanted to do since 1978? Be a ZOMBIE!!! Full story on my day on Walking Dead coming later!!!”

Ian has raved about the show via his Twitter account since the first season with remarks like “Good thing 'Walking Dead' is on tonight. Cathartic head bashings!!” Now Ian will seemingly get to participate in a few of those off stage head bashings, as well. See kids, dreams really do come true!

'The Walking Dead' debuted last year on AMC and returns for a second season on Oct. 16. The show is based on Robert Kirkman’s comic book series and tells the story of mankind dealing with a potential zombie takeover in a post apocalyptic world.

After an absence that was far too long for some metalheads, Anthrax returns on Sept. 13 with their new album ‘Worship Music.' Check out our review of the first official single ‘The Devil You Know’ here. The new disc also features the tune ‘Fight’em ‘Til You Can’t,’ a song that is reminiscent of old school Anthrax and coincidentally about killing zombies. Can you say soundtrack?
