The extreme metal supergroup Serpentine Dominion will be unleashing their self-titled debut album Oct. 28 via Metal Blade Records. Check out the play-through video of the track "On the Brink of Devastation" with guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz above.

The band got their start in 2009 when Killswitch Engage, Cannibal Corpse and the Black Dahlia Murder were all on the bill for the Mayhem Festival. Dutkiewicz told Cannibal Corpse vocalist George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher that he wanted to write him a record. Shannon Lucas, who was in the Black Dahlia Murder at the time, recorded drums on the album.

Dutkiewicz's bandmate Jesse Leach helped write the lyrics. In a recent interview, Lucas talked about Leach's participation. "Lyric writing and direction is something we discussed and figured we would cross that bridge when we got there," Lucas recalls. "When the time came closer to get George penciled in to record we had to make a decision. Adam and I agreed that neither of us were wordsmiths and didn’t think our attempt would do the songs and or George justice."

Lucas continues, "George was also busy with Cannibal at the time and writing lyrics for this whole album wasn’t in the cards so Adam reached out to Jesse to see if he wanted to help us out. Jesse told me he had fun writing for this as it was a lot faster and more extreme than he was used to. I really like his writing style and am very proud that he was a part of this. So in a sense we kept it in the family."

Numerous pre-order bundles of Serpentine Dominion's self-titled disc are now available at this location.
