Shinedown are usually down for a good cause and they're doing their part to help out the folks at DC Strong raise money for their childhood cancer organization. Bassist Eric Bass is stepping up to donate an autographed Hillsboro Dean bass guitar as well as his t-shirt from 'The Sound of Madness' video in hopes of raising significant funds for the organization.

Bass, drummer Barry Kerch and the folks at DC Strong have shot a video explaining the auction that can be seen above. For those interested in the specifics, the bass is an Eric Bass Model Dean Hillsboro bass, with Bass, Kerch and "the other guys" signing the instrument.

The bassist also donated the purple and black shirt that he wore during 'The Sound of Madness' video. Bass also wore the shirt onstage for the better part of a year and during his shoot for 'Bass Player' magazine.

"If you don't know already, DC Strong helps kids who are in the hospital or who have already suffered from cancer by bringing them gifts and in some cases experiences and just sort of helping with the emotional side of having cancer," says Bass.

The auction is currently under way and it runs through Sept. 13. You can place your bid at the eBay page right here.

Bass also lent his talents to shooting a special video for DC Strong that tells more about their organization. Watch the 'No One Fights Alone' clip at this location.
