To accompany the release of their highly anticipated fourth album 'Amaryllis,' Shinedown are planning to come out with a unique e-book. Being the first of its kind, the "completely interactive" e-book will contain commentary, video footage and other exclusive content from the band.

Shinedown singer Brent Smith described the concept and reasoning behind the upcoming e-book in detail during an interview with The Pulse of Radio.

"Back in the day, like when you used to go in and buy records, for people that are a little bit more digital consumers, this e-book is something that brings you back to that element of getting a record and then going inside of it," says Smith. "But it's really going inside of our minds, you know, during the making of the record, and there's so many different storylines inside of all the different aspects of the making of the record. It's a doorway into the mind of all of us."

Shinedown have already released video for the songs 'Unity' and 'Bully' from 'Amaryllis,' the latter of which is currently No. 1 on the active rock chart. The full album is set for release on March 27.

The band will also be headlining the upcoming 2012 Avalanche Tour, with fellow rockers Adelitas Way, New Medicine and Art of Dying coming along as openers.
