Shinedown vs. Nickelback – Rocktober Rumble, Round 1

What is the best hard rock hit of the 21st Century? That's what we're trying to find out with our Rocktober Rumble tournament, which pits two more songs that commanded the airwaves against each other.

On one side, you've got Shinedown, who absolutely blew up with music from their Sound of Madness album, but it was "Second Chance" that not only topped the charts in 2008, but saw them cross over to other genres as well. The deeply personal track connected with many listeners and became a huge hit. Take a listen and sing along with Brent Smith below.

Their opponent is Nickelback, who have one of the most played songs of the 21st century in their chart-topping single "How You Remind Me." Back in 2001, you couldn't avoid this song, and more than likely found yourself singing along with Chad Kroeger. While they had started to invade radio prior, this Silver Side Up song became their calling card. Listen in the player.
