The time has come for Sixx: A.M. -- the group is ready to become a fully-realized touring band. Over the course of three albums, the band has played select shows and performed one year at Crue Fest, but live performances have mostly been sparse. However, with Motley Crue taking a pause from their 'Final Tour' in April 2015, fans will get to see Sixx: A.M. on their first extended trek in years next spring.

Sixx: A.M. revealed during a broadcast of their first performance in five years that they're ready to hit the road, having added Black Label Society drummer Jeff Fabb to their touring lineup. Fabb drummed on the newly released 'Modern Vintage' album, and will be with them when they hit the road next April. The trek will launch April 8 at The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco.

Loudwire spoke with the band about their plans for the tour and it's something the band is definitely anxious to pursue. Bassist Nikki Sixx says, "We're gonna have a unique challenge for a young band in a lot of ways in that we have three albums to choose from. It's like Christmas in a way. What are we gonna do? We've already been mulling over as a band like how long [of a set] is too long to play." Guitarist DJ Ashba adds, "Every one of these songs, it's like, 'God, I just want to play this one too.' It's going to be hard to narrow it down."

Sixx states of the live show, "We have a lot of music to choose from and we want to take people on a journey. We don't want to do a linear, one-dimensional rock show. We want to do like the bands that blew our minds when we were growing up. We want to do that and take it all over the place and we don't know how long that's gonna take to do it."

Meanwhile frontman James Michael adds, "As DJ has said, I think the fans have only gotten half of the story with Sixx: A.M. and we are now able to bring it to life and on tour. It's going to be really fun to show them the other side of it."

You can also look for Apocalyptica joining Sixx: A.M. on the April dates. Sixx says that the Sixx A.M. members are big fans of Apocalyptica and thought the pairing would make for a great show, so they were enthused when the cello rockers signed on for the trek. "We feel like the two bands together will give the audience such a journey. Musically, visually, it's so exciting," says Sixx.

There is currently an AMEX presale underway for the dates, while local on-sales will start Oct. 9 and the general public on-sale dates begin Oct. 10 and 11.
