Skeletonwitch's music may be dark, brutal and extreme, but offstage their members have a soft spot for animals. As pet owners themselves, they are showing support for a couple of animal related charities with a limited edition, hand-screened 180-gram vinyl edition of their 2013 album 'Serpents Unleashed.'

All of the profits from the vinyl release will be donated to two animal shelters in the band's home state of Ohio: the Athens County Humane Society and Columbus’ Pets Without Parents. In the video above, vocalist Chance Garnette and guitarist Scott Hedrick talk about the project, followed by a montage of pet photos, including members of the band with their pets.

Limited to a one-time-only pressing of 100 copies, the 180-gram black LP includes a hand-screened, hand-numbered jacket with exclusive artwork (pictured below) and a hand-screened dust sleeve.

Also included are a poster and sticker that showcase John Baizley's (Baroness) original artwork along with a download card. The album goes on sale Monday, Jan. 20 at 1PM Eastern via skeletonwitch.com.

Skeletonwitch kick off a tour with Amon Amarth and Enslaved beginning Friday night (Jan. 17) in Las Vegas. They had planned to go to Europe after that, supporting Overkill beginning in March, but that tour has been cancelled. The band has several April dates scheduled in Australia with Toxic Holocaust.
