Saturday night (Aug. 1) found two guitar greats in one place -- a studio. Legendary axeman Ace Frehley revealed that he had put invites out to several name musicians to join him on a covers album and Slash took him up on the offer over the weekend.

According to a tweet by Slash, the pair covered a Thin Lizzy song. He did not reveal which track they covered, but called the experience "a really fun, live session." Several photos from the session were also posted online featuring Frehley, Slash, Frehley's drummer Matt Starr and producer Warren Huart. Check out the photos and tweets below:

Back in April, Frehley revealed that the Rolling Stones, the Who, Led Zeppelin and the Beatles were among the acts he hoped to cover, as well as redoing both "Cold Gin" and "Parasite" from his old band KISS, but with him on vocals. In addition to Slash, Frehley reportedly put out calls to Lita Ford and Pearl Jam's Mike McCready.

Speaking with Full Metal Jackie, Frehley stated, “It’s always fun to do covers, you know? I mean sometimes it’s really refreshing to do someone else’s material. And that’s why I’m so excited for this new CD I’m doing for eOne because it’s exclusively covers and remakes.”

Stay tuned for additional details on the upcoming covers disc from Frehley.
