Slash Offering 20 Unsigned Bands Chance to Open for Him
Slash really does his best to help foster the talent of tomorrow and give aspiring musicians a fighting chance in the uphill battle known as the music industry. The guitarist has partnered with Guitar Center to offer 20 unsigned bands the opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to open for him on an upcoming tour.
This promotion is part of the retailer's 'Onstage' program. The groups will be hand selected by Slash himself and will be able to perform at the tour date nearest their hometown. The cities where groups will be chosen are major markets, such as Atlanta, Los Angeles, Austin, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Detroit, New York, Phoenix and more.
"I'm a strong believer that the best way to get your music heard is to get out there and play shows," Slash said. "There are tons of talented bands that simply don't have the resources to go on tour, so I'm stoked to be able to host them on my tour and at the same time introduce my fans to great, undiscovered artists."
Slash truly is a patron of the arts.
A grand prize winner will be picked at the end of the tour and win a killer package, which includes $10,000 worth of guitars from Gibson and Epiphone and $5,000 in shopping spree cash at Guitar Center.
Each of the 20 bands will receive tour support prize packs too. Those will include gear from several instrument companies, including Ernie Ball, Zoom, Dunlop, Monster Cable, Pro-Mark and Converse.
If you think you've got the chops to open for the legend known as Slash, you have until June 30 to enter. Go here for more details and entry info.
